organized to address the deficiencies in analytical methods and sampling methods in the phosphate mining industry. The organization was renamed the Association of Fertilizer and Phosphate Chemists to reflect the importance of all phosphate products and the inclusion of all manufacturers. The purpose of the organization has remained unchanged for over 100 years, focused on the promotion of uniformity in analytical and sampling methods for industry, commercial laboratories, and regulatory agencies.
The AFPC provides the plant nutrient industry with an analytical methods manual, a rock sample with a globally accepted analysis, and availability to two free analytical proficiency programs. The proficiency programs are for phosphate rock and phosphate products, including feed phosphates.
